地方政府照顧新住民及其子女有成，副總統吳敦義上午出席移民署舉辦的活動時表示，火炬計畫雖然經費不多，但在許多民間團體和地方政府的熱情支持下，不僅讓新台灣之子可擁有更好教育，也讓新移民無後顧之憂; 在新住民火炬計畫中，共有新北市、彰化縣、台中市、台南市、台北市、桃園縣、嘉義市、金門縣等8縣市，以及42所學校獲得績優表揚。

集合住宅から一部ミイラ化した女性遺体　餓死か　大阪市東淀川区(13/11/19)

【於慶中／綜合外電報導】日本大阪昨天(18日)發現一名31歲女子的屍體，警方表示女子死亡至少超過一個月，已經高度腐爛，經解剖確認死因為「飢餓」。

大阪警察署昨天忠五街到一名男子報警，表示在妹妹家中發現她的遺體，警方表示，31歲死者自己一人生活，並沒有固定的工作，遺體在臥室中發現，沒有外傷，現場也沒有外人入侵的痕跡。死者住處的水電瓦斯都因為沒有繳費而已經遭到停用，房租也沒有繳納，屋中櫥櫃、冰箱內空空如也。法醫表示，死者胃中也沒有任何食物殘留。
