| 南韓政府啟動 韓中海域畫界談判

中國大陸劃設東海防空識別區時，將「離於島」的上空包括在內，此一情況，引起南韓政府重視，計畫儘早啟動韓中海域劃界談判，以解決「離於島」海域管轄權問題。
南韓所說的「離於島」，中國稱：「蘇岩礁」。在國際法上，「離於島」是公海上的礁岩，對該海域的管轄權，需透過海域劃界會談來決定。
韓中兩國均主張離於島海域，包含在本國專屬經濟區之內。該島距離南韓最南端馬羅島149公里，距離中國大陸附近海域247公里，該海域是韓中專屬經濟區的重疊區域。為了解決重疊問題，韓中兩國從1996年起至2008年11月，先後舉行14次會議，討論確定海域分界線，但未能縮小意見分歧。
南韓政府消息人士表示，中國劃設東海防空識別區是，根據國家安全的原因，單方面設置的區域，與離於島海域的管轄權問題無關，但為了儘早解決離於島海域問題，啟動海域劃界會談尤為重要。
