在此之前，來自英國金融時報的消息顯示，蘋果正在招募汽車工程師，而這段時間內，蘋果街景車的曝光度也不斷地增加，街景車上所搭載的 LIDAR 的光線偵測和度量系統，除了常見於 Google 和 Nokia 街景地圖之外，也有應用到 Google 無人駕駛汽車中。綜合各方消息顯示，蘋果生產電動車的傳言越來越真實。
