讀者陳小姐向《蘋果》投訴，今天和外籍丈夫要從高鐵台中站搭車到北部跟親友拜年，她先生是身障人士，購票時出示其外籍人士的殘障手冊，高鐵人員指外籍人士不適用高鐵優惠制度，她批評傷害外籍殘障人士自尊。台灣高鐵公司回應，依法愛心票適用對象，需持有我國社會福利主管機關核發的身心障礙手冊，本項優惠限國人使用。
 
陳小姐認為，高鐵做法是二度傷害外籍殘障人士，很丟台灣人的臉，「乾脆貼張外籍人士搭高鐵要雙倍價錢的公告。」
 
台灣高鐵公司回應，《身心障礙者權益保障法》第58條規定，「身心障礙者搭乘國內大眾運輸工具，憑身心障礙證明，應予半價優待」，適用對象是《身心障礙者搭乘國內公民營公共交通工具優待實施辦法》第3條，「經鑑定符合中央衛生主管機關所定等級並領有身心障礙（殘障）手冊之身心障礙者」。（生活中心／台北報導）

阿拉伯聯合大公國城市杜拜一處非法外勞住宅區昨天（20日）清晨發生大火，造成10死8傷。
 
新華社報導，杜拜一棟2層建築昨天清晨發生大火，建築的倉庫被非法改建為外勞居住房間，10名罹難者在睡眠中被活活燒死，其餘8人被燒傷或嗆傷。目前警方已經將建築所有人扣留，並逮捕相關人士。

新加坡《聯合早報》報導，新加坡政府今天表示，高齡91歲的建國者李光耀，現已住進中央醫院加護病房，並裝上了呼吸器，但情況穩定。醫生稱他意識清醒，有給他少量鎮靜劑。他在本月5日因為肺炎住院。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）

高雄市三民區鼎山街上一間民宅，今天下午傳出墜樓意外，一名男高中生因不明原因墜落在隔壁診所的5樓露臺上。由於診所適逢春節休診，救護人員不得其門而入，便出動雲梯車前往救援。

墜樓的高中生側躺在地，上方的採光罩則破了一個大洞，高中生除了頸椎疼痛外，並無其他外傷。救護人員將他以長背板固定後搬運至地面，再轉往醫院救治。家屬並不知道他為何會摔落鄰宅，詳細墜樓原因仍有待調查。（張世瑜/高雄報導）

台中市一名33歲罹患小兒麻痺症的黃姓男子，帶著行李獨自到日月潭地區觀光旅遊，今天下午4時許他拄著拐杖到朝霧碼頭，席地而坐獨飲一手啤酒，酒後走進日月潭輕生，附近陸客見狀趕緊要導遊打電話報案，警消獲報到場搜救約40分鐘，終於在岸邊潭底找到黃男，但他送醫仍不治，警消已連繫其家人了解其輕生原因。(楊靜茹／南投報導)
