針對蘇貞昌今宣布不選民進黨黨主席，台南市長賴清德表示，學運不僅影響到民進黨，也影響到社會各階層，他認為蘇和謝不選黨主席，可減少黨內競爭，也不必再造成社會的耗損。對蘇貞昌在反服貿學運後，具體回應社會的聲音，認為成功不必在我，他認為蘇貞昌有風度，也展現高度，值得敬佩。
                             
針對蔡英文堅定承擔的談話，賴清德表示，承擔是好事，他樂觀其成並祝福蔡前主席，亦強調民進黨一定要團結。被問及有無意願參選黨主席時，賴表示，他已宣布要競選連任台南市市長，要選黨主席的人選也很明確，所以他不會參選黨主席。（劉榮輝／台南報導）
